Don't lose your cool in the heatwave

Summer is here! But as you’re dusting off your flip flops and reaching for the sunscreen, don’t forget about your furry family members who may not be enjoying the heatwave as much as you. Pets can quickly become uncomfortable as the temperature rises so, to help you keep your pets happy in this long-awaited heat, we’ve pulled together this handy summer guide featuring some of our newest products.

1- Stay hydrated

Look out for signs of dehydration in your pets. Excessive panting and drooling is a sign that your pet is overheating and, in more severe cases of heat stroke, symptoms include vomiting and loss of appetite. Ensure that your pet always has access to fresh water both indoors and externally and, if away from home, take plenty with you using our new Portable Leaf Travel Bottle or our Portable Collapsible Travel Bottle. Both come with an added carabiner for attaching to leads or bags - perfect for road trips and travelling with your pets!

2 - Keep watch

Keep an eye on your pets, especially cats, as they’re likely to seek out cool hiding spots and could end up accidentally locked in a shed! Try providing some extra shade in the garden using a parasol to give your pet a cool, and safe, place to lay while relaxing outside.

3 - Cool down

Make summer play a cool affair with our Chillax cooling range! Our latest additions include a cool soak ball, bone and shark - these tough rubber toys have fantastic cooling capabilities. Simply fill or soak the toy with water and freeze overnight! Plus, our new Cool Collar is perfect for dogs on the go, with a comfortable, adjustable fit and no freezing required. Avoid playtime at the hottest parts of the day, instead stick to the early mornings and evenings.

4 - Soothing swim

Take your pooch with you to the beach, river or lake! Here they can enjoy a refreshing swim to cool down in this summer heat. Our new Reflective Swim Jacket is designed to keep pets safe and seen whilst playing in the water and it even comes with a handle for easy lifting.

5 - Sundowner

Last but not least… Once your pet is safe and happy in the heat, it’s time to set up the Cool Down Foldable Pool, sit backand enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
