Now temperatures have finally warmed up, many of us will be keen to plan some summer adventures with our four-legged friends. Whether that’s a UK staycation or day trips exploring the great outdoors, we’ve shared our top tips for a happy holiday with your canine companion:
Preparation is key
If you are planning a UK staycation, it might seem obvious, but research the hotel, resort or campsite to check it has everything you need for your pooch. Some beaches and hotels may be pet-friendly but can charge an additional fee. Also, there may be restrictions on where you can access with your pet in tow, particularly public beaches at peak times, so make sure pooches are allowed before you make the journey.
Check out the English Heritage and the National Trust, which both have plenty of pet-friendly sites waiting to be discovered, across the UK.
